Detailed Camp Information

June 15-18 (Tues. – Fri.)

Chess Camp  $55

Age: Entering 5-9th gr.
Time: 1 – 3 p.m.
Description: Chess has been called “The Game of Kings.” It has a history over a thousand years old and has been played by most of the great minds throughout history. All skill levels are welcome from beginner to advanced. Everyone will have fun and improve their game.
Maximum participants: 16

Programming Camp  $55

Age: Entering 7-9th gr.
Time: 10:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Description: Computers are everywhere and someone has to program them to do the cool things they do. Why not you? Learn the basics of programming from sequence, conditionals, loops, functions, and more. More advanced programmers are welcome and can be challenged with other options.
Maximum participants: 16

Sports Sampler! $55 – 3 SPOTS REMAIN

Age: Entering 4-6th
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Description: Campers will experience four different sports as they rotate daily through sessions of soccer, basketball, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee. Each day is a different sport!

Activities Sampler! $55

Age: Entering 5-8th
Time: 1 – 3 p.m.
Description: Campers will experience multiple activities as they rotate daily through sessions in technology, science and math, art, and drama!  Each day is a new adventure!

COVID Protocols

Safety protocols for summer programs are provided in detail here.  They are consistent with the requirements set forth in the June 1, 2021 MDHHS Gathering and Face Mask Order.  A signed copy of this document must be provided at check-in on a camper’s first day.  Thank you for your cooperation in providing a great summer camp experience in a safe environment.

During registration you will be asked to acknowledge receipt of the information regarding concussions available here: Required Concussion Information.

Payment can be made online here or by check.  (Please make check payable to VLHS and include ‘camps’ and your student’s name on the subject line.  Mail to VLHS Summer Programs, 3560 McCarty Road, Saginaw, MI  48603.)

Additional Camp Information

  • T-shirts are guaranteed to campers who register by May 26.
  • A supervised, distanced lunch period will be available to campers who are participating in both a morning and afternoon camp.
  • Please register early as most camps have limited enrollments this year!
  • In the event of day-of cancellation, a notice will be posted at www.vlhs.com and participants will be contacted via the email address provided at registration.
